Handling Our Stuff
In Malachi we read how God tells us to give the first 10% (tithe) of everything back to him. This is not because needs our money. This is showing that we are good stewards of what God has given us and that we trust God to take care of us. This is the only area in which God welcomes us to test him. In regard to our finances -- to stay "in the zone", we need to bring the tithe; plan our spending; get rid of debt and save for the future.

Tests of Love for God (Psalm 119:129-136)
There is little that amazes us anymore. With the advent of television, movies, and computer animated images, our senses have become dull, this is why the entertainment industry constantly has to come up with something more and more fantastic. And the advancements in technology that allow you to hold a little device in your hand and talk to anybody, anywhere in the world – or send pictures, or information back and forth at the touch of a button, is an amazing reality that has simply become common place. And unfortunately the effect this has is to lessen our amazement with the reality of God and the redemption that is reveled on the pages of Scripture. -This is the danger that lies before us – that we can fail to be amazed at God; to be amazed at His Person; amazed at His work –where a recounting of the gospel is simply dull reminder of information that has long sense failed to stoke the embers of our heart; we get used to all the things we have heard before. So, we must come again to God’s Word and measure the spiritual temperature of your heart; and Ps. 119:129-136 gives us opportunity to do just that. And this brings us to the question I will place before you this evening –What are the expressions of the heart to the Word of God that measure your love for God? Well, Psalm 119:129-136 provides an answer to that question, by giving 3 responses of your heart that measure your love for God. They are 1) Amazement at God’s revelation, 2) Zeal for complete holiness, and 3) Brokenness over all sin.

Image Building = All of Our Insecurities at Work
Image Building = All of Our Insecurities at Work Daniel Chapter three Six ways to know if this image in Babylon is defining us: 1. Attempting to make impressions that are bigger than we really are.(1) 2. Needing the strokes of VIPs. (2, 3) 3. Self-worship “I am, and there is none besides me.†(Isa. 47:8, 10) 4. Setting up situations where others are motivated to worship us(4-7) 5. Making demanded displays of loyalty. (8-15) 6. Anger when our elaborate self-scheme is opposed. (13, 19) Three tests of our faith brought on by the fire. 16-27 (Hebrews 11) 1. Deliverance faith – we can be delivered from the fire. 2. Enduring faith – we can be delivered through the fire. 3. Commended (graduating) faith – we can be delivered by the fire into the arms of Jesus. The three friends were already committed to the flames before they knew precisely what form of deliverance they would experience. Complete deliverance by Jesus, the fourth man in the fire, means that only the ropes (i.e. those things that bind us) are removed in the fire. We are refined with no hair singed, without the smell of smoke and only what’s “fake†is burned.
