Leadership for the Long Haul
Saul’s first crisis in leadership comes when he is ready to go into battle but he has been told to wait at Gilgal until Samuel shows up to offer a sacrifice. This story shows us the tragedy that takes place when we doubt God’s word and head off on our own. We ultimately need a leader who will stand firm in crisis and trust God.

Recipe #2 Realistic Expectations
Recipe #2: Realistic Expectations 1. I create security when I stop working on my mate and I start working on myself. â€For we are each responsible for our own conduct." Galatians 6:5 (NLT) “And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own?†Matthew 7:3 (NLT) 2. I create security when I start working on MY heart. My heart determines my actions. “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.†Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) “For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.†Matthew 12:34 “As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man.†Proverbs 27:19 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.†Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) "Don't you understand?" Jesus asked him. "Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes out of the body. But evil words come from an evil heart and defile the person who says them. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all other sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands could never defile you and make you unacceptable to God!" Matthew 15:19, 20 (NLT) My heart needs to be examined. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Psalm 139:23 (NIV) My heart can change. For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9, 10 (NLT) Jesus: “I'm here inviting outsiders, not insiders--an invitation to a changed life, changed inside and out.†Luke 5:32 (MSG)

Doing Time (The Prison Test)
Sometimes we find ourselves in painful situations and trying conditions because of poor choices. But like Joseph, even when we do right, God will still often allow us to be tested severely and treated unfairly in order to build His character and perseverance in us. (adapted from Dream to Destiny)

Genesis: 22 The Beginning of Hope in the Promises of God: A Life of Abraham
In today’s epic, we will see not only an incredible transformation of Abraham’s heart, but an incredible picture of God’s grace in our own lives. Abraham displays a great faith, but the hero of this story remains God, who gave him that great faith. Faith is so often mischaracterized as: the more faith you have the more change you will see. However Jesus said that all it takes is the faith of a mustard seed (Very small seed) to move mountains, the size of your faith is not the issue, but the one whom which you place it.

Abraham - led one step at the time
The Lord will lead us one step at a time. If we do not take the first step, He will not give us the second step, and on and on and on like that. We have to take the step directly in front of us. Some steps are tests, if we don’t pass the test, we don’t get to move on to the next step. We don’t get the next direction until we pass the test.

Rejoice with Joy Unspeakable / Stay in the boat.
The faith of many is being tested right now. We need to rejoice, because the testing of our faith is good for us. It means there’s something the enemy is trying to keep us from. It helps strengthen us. Those who are not being tested need to be agreeing with those who are that they will receive that for which they are believing. We need to stay in joy. God will come though for us. Stay in faith. Stay in the boat, in joy. Joy is the boat. There’s no triumph without a trial, no victory without a battle. But the battle is the Lord’s. Don’t give up, you’re almost there.
