Sermons About Thanks
Gospel Gratefulness (AM)
With the Thanksgiving season upon us, Adam encourages believers to view gratitude not as a holiday, but as a habit. The study includes a closer look at two of Paul's "thanks be to God" statements. These provide a grid through which true, lasting, and habitual thankfulness must flow.

I Can Give Thanks
What are you thankful for? Our thankfulness as Christians is not tied to a particular day or season, but should be a constant attitude. We must be passionate about giving thanks. Are you as passionate in your thanksgiving as you are in calling on God during trials? Jesus notices our lack of gratitude. Do you stop and thank God for what He's doing for you or just let it slide by? The life change through Jesus should motivate our gratitude. What was old has been made new. It isn't about just coming to church, and feeling good about that. It's about living a new life and being thankful for God's love.

A Psalm. For Giving Thanks.
The book of Psalms is famous for the way it speaks about two things: the pain of life and the praise of God. We often find it hard to put the two together. How can you be heartfelt about the praise of God if you are honest about the pain of life? What the psalms teach us is that it is not only possible to be thankful, it's important. When life is going well thankfulness reminds us that behind all of the good gifts of life there is a God who is good. When life seems filled with troubles, being thankful doesn't dissolve your troubles but it can transform your spirit. It can be an act of faith that gives you the strength to get through trouble without bitterness or foolishness.

Living High at Entry Level
When a Christian becomes ungrateful, what has happened is that somewhere along the line they have become "over-qualified" for the job description that accompanies the disciple of Christ. "As you have received Christ Jesus the LORD, so walk in him...." (Col2:6). The character of the "entry level" determines the character of daily living the Christian life.

Inspirational Worship
As we begin our 100th year as a congregation and look ahead to our next century together, we do so giving thanks and praise to God. Worship has always been a core element of our lives together. Today we consider what true worship is and how we shall worship in the future.

What Do I Have to be Thankful For?
We all know we need to be thankful. And we know we have reasons to be thankful. But we often get into unthankful attitudes, because we forget why we would be so thankful. We need reminders about the grace of God. In Colossians 1 Paul gives us three reminders about why we should be thankful.
