Worldview Adjustment
Why is there evil in the world? Is it true that God is obligated to keep every person from evil? Some say that the presence of evil in the world is proof that either God is not powerful enough to stop evil or does not care enough to do so and thus, He is not really God. Where do we begin in this discussion? John Calvin began his most important work, The Institutes of the Christian Religion with these words, "Our wisdom, in so far as it ought to be deemed true and solid Wisdom, consists almost entirely of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves." This is where most of us miss it in our assessment of the world. We need to begin with right information before we make assessments and assertions concerning it. Let's look at what the Bible says about God and ourselves and then we can determine how it all fits together.

Our Need For A Savior!
As we begin to consider celebrating the coming of God into the world in human flesh it is good for us to consider the whole counsel of God. Celebrating Advent is a great way to do that. We focus on the First Sunday of Advent on God's Authority as Creator and Man's Problem of Sin. Without the blackness of this background, the full beauty of the Gospel is not seen. Psalm 5 is unabashedly direct in its assessment of the human condition. But this Bad News makes the Good News appear all the more glorious.
The Gospel Reverses the Curse on Work
Before the Adam’s fall, work was a clear blessing with continuous reward and satisfaction. However, Adam’s fall created a curse on work. Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection reverses the curse on work and give each believer to experience work in a new and satisfying way.
Oh dear, the snake's caused a bit of bother...
The fall, well what exactly is the message here? Can we really have any hope when it all looks so grim? Let's see...
