We steal all the time..we just don't admit or realize it.
This lesson teaches us that the world around us is striving to change who we are at the core. We can look at the example of Daniel and his friends and see how they stuck with God regardless of their enviormental influences.
God's prohibition of stealing covers a great variety of sins, from robbery and burglary to embezzlement (including how we spend our time at work), fraud, enslavement, and robbing God. There is stealing in each of our hearts, and the root of it is our failure to trust in God's provision, and in our covetousness. In Christ, who died between two thieves, we find provision for forgiveness, and power to work faithfully for our provision and so that we may give to others.
