All Who Are Thirsty, Come
We are designed to desire God's presence. Just as our bodies are designed for water, our souls are designed for God. But it easy to get distracted from the presence of God, which is why we need to deepen our dependence upon him as our true source of satisfaction.

It Only Works if You Drink It
It Only Works if You Drink It John 4: 1-42 v.14 “Whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.†When we meet, is it present? How can we tell? Do first time attenders experience it? Can it be programmed into our gatherings? Where can I buy it ? If it doesn’t show …well, why not? WHAT is it anyhow? It is not unusual that we come to God on a regular basis, yet seldom seem to experience the thirst quenching relationship that we want and that should be ours. Either there is a problem with the water or we are not drinking it. Here is a woman that responds immediately and completely to a brief encounter with Jesus? She not only changes, but because of her response her city is changed. What did she do that we don’t? 1. An awareness of and a willingness to address the thirst within. v.15 “Sir give me this water that I may never thirst, nor come here to draw.†2. A willingness to change priorities when confronted with a solution. v.28 “And the woman then left her water pot and went her way….†3. A willingness of personal exposure for the sake of something greater. v.29 “Come and see a Man that told me all things that I ever did.†v.39 “And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman….†A wise person chooses a destiny and accepts the road. A foolish person chooses a road and accepts the destiny.

Threats to Thirst
Last week we learned our thirst for life can only be quenched by faith in Christ. Yet many still live with a dehydrated soul. If God makes available cool, abundant, life-giving water, why don’t we drink?

I Long for Change!
In a world that so desperately needs to SEE the tangible expressions of the kingdom of God coming to reign... poverty eradicated, disease cured, wars ended, and relationships restored... we sometimes lose hope. Will we EVER see the powerful sweeping move of God in this way? Reminds me of Habakkuk 3:2 "LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known!" How hungry are we?
