Sermons About Thirsty
Worship - Treasure
Why is God so interested in being in the position of glory? Why does He insist on being worshiped? Tonight we want to look at Jeremiah 2 to find the answer to these questions.

RU Thirsty
Most of us, at one time or another, have been tempted to fall into the attitude of "half-heartedness." We are constantly pressured by society and our own laziness, to do just enough to get by. We feel complacent and content when things go smoothly, and we forget about the fire and sense of urgency that Jesus exhibited while he was on the earth. We forget that he calls us to have the same desire to go "ALL IN" that he had. This series, based on text messaging, calls both Christians and non-Christians alike, to be completely sold out to the purposes and plan of Jesus Christ. Join us this week as we work to evalute and correct our personal life goals and desires to line up with what Christ has in mind for us.

Come Thirsty
To know and understand the greatest message, you and I must ask ourselves an even deeper question. What is mankind’s greatest need? In other words, if you had an audience of the entire world listening or watching and you had the forum to say whatever you wanted and know people were truly listening, what message would you give, that you’d want people to know and understand?

How thirsty are you?
HOW THIRSTY ARE YOU? John 7:37-39) Pentecost Sunday 37. On the last day and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out with a loud voice saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38. “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Historical setting of this scripture: Do you Know What you are Thirsty for? Come to Me Drink Believe in Me as the Scriptures say Out of your heart will flow rivers (springs) of living water What is the Nature of These Springs? The living Springs come by receiving the Holy Spirit The supernatural Springs flowing from this Rock are now in us The power effected in us goes far beyond our natural ability The Springs can dry up and they can be revived The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost (Acts 1: 4-8; 2: 1-42) They waited because they were thirsty The Holy Spirit came upon them in a visible presence It turned cowardly persons hung up with their personal junk into bold powerful ambassadors for Christ. Miracles, signs, wonders, gifts and fruit came with the Spirit The promise of the Holy Spirit is to all men, women, sons and daughters Let those who are thirsty come; and let all who wish take the free gift of the water of life. (Revelation 22:17)

HOW DO WE LOSE it? HOW DO WE GET it BACK?
HOW DO WE LOSE it? HOW DO WE GET it BACK? Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 When we meet, is it present? How can we tell? Do first time attenders experience it ? Can it be programmed into our gatherings? Where can I buy it ? If it doesn’t show …well, why not? WHAT is it anyhow? What’s the “slippery slope†to losing IT? (Vs. 7-11) 1. The tendency to cling to the secure and familiar even when the familiar leads eventually to our undoing. (death) 2. Being drawn to the external code (law) which kills - it makes external demands without giving inward power for obedience. How can we be in danger of losing IT? (Verse 12-15) 1. By substituting performance for anointing. 2. By replacing ministry with programs. 3. By trading resources for passion. 4. By being so busy doing the work of God that we drift from God. 5. By believing we can create IT instead of spiritually birthing IT. 6. By playing safe rather than living by faith. Do you know how to get IT back? (Verse 16-18) 1. You might need to start with the confession, I’ve lost IT! 2. You’ve got to be thirsty for the Spirit that brings freedom. 3. You’ve got to invite Jesus to get in your face. 4. You polish the mirror - He will bring change.
