Peter treats suffering as if it's a given. Reading his letter, it's hard not to think that in his mind, suffering is a central theme of the Christian life. But if we're honest, that doesn't bear itself out in our lives. Why not? In this message, we'll consider the purpose of suffering, and what God is trying to reveal in our hearts as we endure the "fiery trial".
The Psalmist's trials are lessened by the affirmation of what God has done, and the confidence in what those divine promises mean.
