Sermons About Trustworthy
Jesus Christ & The Word, Pt. 3 (Matthew 5:18)
No other doctrine sustains such consistent attack throughout the history of the world, than the doctrine of Scripture. Even in the Garden of Eden the first thing Satan attacked was the reliability of God’s word, which was in fact an attack on the character of God Himself. All attacks on God’s Word are designed to undermine His absolute authority and trustworthiness. Today these attacks come in a variety of forms: Liberalism: attacks authority by rejecting the supernatural and imposing the wisdom and agenda of man on Scripture. Charismatics: attack authority by making experience ultimate authority. Emergents: attack authority by denying the existence of absolute truth. The Jews of Jesus’ day attacked the authority of God’s Word by elevating the authority of their tradition, much like the RCC church does today. However, in a few short verses (5:17-20) Jesus demolishes and destroys these strongholds set up against the knowledge of God and establishes the absolute authority of the Word of God and His Person and work as Messiah. 5:19-20 Authority as it relates to man’s *Accountability. In 5:17-18 Authority from God’s Side; He will do this in primarily three ways: (1) God’s Word sits in judgment on false, man-made religion. (2) He fulfills all of God’s Word by His Person & work as Messiah. (3) The permanence of God’s purposes as revealed in the written Word.

Mothers
The price of a godly woman is far above rubies. According to Proverbs, a good or godly woman is trustworthy, industrious, an early riser, a gardener, compassionate, a seamstress, controls her tongue (free of gossip), speaks words of kindness and is a good homemaker. A godly woman is worthy of honor.

Living with the Loose Ends of Life
God has revealed to us all we need to know, but not all there is to know. Sometimes, when we ask "Why Lord" God doesn't answer. Trusting God when we don't understand isn't easy, but when we do trust him we find that he is utterly faithful and entirely trustworthy. Living with the loose ends of life means trusting God even when we don't have all the answers.

Is God Trustworthy?
You will never put your trust in God until you believe that He is trustworthy. There are two objections to this: 1. God can't handle it. 2. God doesn't want to handle it. Psalm 62:11-12 You, oh God are strong, and You, oh Lord, are loving. Four Practical Ways of Determining if God is Trustworthy 1. Read the Bible 2. Remember 3. Throw yourself into community 4. Talk to Jesus

God's Word is a Solid Rock (Psalm 119:89-96)
God's Word is eternal, trustworthy, and a satisfying balm to the soul that trust in it. God's word is settled. The words, theories, and counsel of men fail, but God's word stands unchanging and unbreakable. To the one who trust in His word it is a source of delight that brings satisfaction, hope, and freedom! How could we look anywhere else?
