Re: Joys - Joy in Temptation
The Philippians church held a special place in Paul's heart. They had always had a closeness with his ministry and had always supported them. And yet he writes to strongly warn them about the complaining and questioning that was present in their young church. In Philippians 2, Paul's words deal with complaining and questioning toward leaders that threatens the unity of the church. He talks about the necessity of continued obedience and we talk about obedience in our context.

The Community of Grace (Romans 14:1-10)
We are to welcome and accept one another warmly, in spite of our differences, for the same reason that God has welcomed and accepted us -- we are recipients of grace, declared righteous in Christ. We will often differ with one another over secondary matters, but the gospel provides and builds a unity that allows us to disagree in humility and love.

Praxis: Gospel & Church
Steve picks up from last week continuing with the last of Peter’s three different contexts in which verse 2:16 gets worked out in our lives. So far, we’ve seen how “living as Servants of God” works itself out in the workplace and in the home. Before Peter leaves this subject, he applies it directly to the Christian community and the relationships within the church. Sadly, Christians often forget their Servant Identity in the way they relate to one another, and it is often within the community where the most selfish, self-centered behavior comes out. Peter urges us to live the way of the cross together. Listen as Steve and Russ encourages us to live with “unity of mind”, sympathy for one another, familial love, tender heartedness and humble mindedness towards one another.
