Impossible Is Not In God's Vocabulary
Luke 1:37 (New International Version) "For nothing is impossible with God." God makes the impossible possible!!!
All Things New
We've reached the end of our flight through the Revelation! Seven local congregations were the first to receive this letter of encouragement. Regardless of how dark the days may appear to be around you - hang on! Jesus Christ is on the throne - He is ruling - He is reigning - and for those who overcome, there will be a great reward! Someone has correctly noted that only four chapters of the Bible portray life as it was intended to be: Genesis 1 & 2 and Revelation 21 & 22. The earth is restored to it's original glory, and God makes His dwelling with His people. Key Passage: Revelation 21 & 22
Fearless
Jesus made the promise that the gates of hell would not prevail against His church! As we dig into one of the most difficult texts in the Revelation this weekend, the underlying theme takes us back to those words of courage! Even in the darkest days of the church's history, God has always preserved His witness! Like the children's toy from 20 years ago "Weebles Wobble but they don't fall down!" How often have we had to get back up on our feet again after having suffered a "fatal blow"? If you take nothing else with you this weekend... take this... God has called us to be fearless in our resolve, fearless in our witness, fearless in our stand for Christ. Can you say it with confidence... "I am not ashamed..."? Key Passage: Revelation 11:1-14
Pulling Back the Curtain
At the start of a New Year, maybe nothing could be more important than gaining a fresh vision of Jesus! On-going military conflict and the recent global economic turmoil has heightened our awareness to the fragile nature of life. John offers his readers much more than an end-times road map, he offers a rocksolid confidence that the same Jesus who began the work of reconciling us to God - will one day bring it to an incredible conclusion! In the meanwhile, we stand in awe and in worship! More than anything else, I pray that this study will give us a clear vision of the powerful, exalted, and victorious Christ we serve - and that from that confidence - our lives will be different! Key Passage: Revelation 1:1-20
When the Mission Seems Impossible
Success is in the hands of God. When the mission seems impossible, God has a plan, provisions and promise. When the Lord is on our side, you don't have to wait until the battle is over to shout out, the victory is already done.
Communion -A Blood Covenant Renewal
Under Old Testament law, if a virgin who was betrothed to a man would be raped by another man and she cried out she would not be killed. If she did not cry out she would be killed. In like manner, we are betrothed to JESUS by a blood covenant and He and your brotherhood are ready and willing to help if you would only CRY OUT! The Old Testament tells of several blood covenants between GOD and man. In each of the covenants, men or animals were the ones that shed the blood. In "The Blood Covenant" of the New Testament, JESUS was the one who shed the blood for man. Communion is a renewal of our blood covenant with CHRIST, and our commitment to cry out in our times of need.
After Life 4 - Heaven
Is Heaven a real place? Will I be bored in Heaven? Will my pet be in Heaven? Pastor David answers questions about Heaven in part 4 of the After LIfe series.
Spiritual Things 6
Pastor David continues his study of 1 Corinthians 12, 13 & 14 by beginning to talk about the "Power Gifts". These are the gifts that "do" something.
Whip It
"Crack that whip! Give the past a slip...when a problem comes along, you must whip it...whip it good!" This week's "Songs I Like" is Devo's "Whip It." We've got to put the past behind us and push forward...past the hurt and heartache, past the shame and regret! If we're going to experience God and the abundant life, we've got to let go of the things that weigh us down and look to Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith!
The Lord's Supper
Jesus instituted “The Lord’s Supper” or “Holy Communion”, an ordinance or an observed memorial of the gifts of Jesus’ body and blood for the sins of the world. Just as the Passover lamb was a type/symbol of the coming Lamb of God…The Communion bread and wine are type/symbol of the body and blood of the Lamb who came and gave his life for us.
