PRAISE AND WORSHIP OUR GOD: thru the Trials of Life as We Hold to the Testimony of Jesus (Revelation 19:1-10 * Message #35/40) 09-18-2011
1. Let us Praise Our God: for His Judgments are True and Just ● Know the God of the Scriptures: and praise the God of our salvation. ● Know the God who is True and Just: and praise our God in the trials of life and the tribulation of this age. 2. Let us Worship God: as we Hold to the Testimony of Jesus ● Rejoice, be Glad and give God Glory: for we are the bride of Christ and the wedding day is coming! ● Hear and Keep the Prophetic Word: as God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works. Summary of Revelation 18-20: “We come now to scenes depicting the final victory of God over Satan and the forces of evil. The fall of Rome in chapter 18 is a picture of the *eschatological demise of every proud human institution that glories in its accomplishments at the expense of all that is right and good. In the end God’s righteousness will prevail. Following the ecstatic praise of God for his just punishment of the prostitute [19:1-5] we are told that at last the time for the wedding supper of the Lamb has come. The church as the bride of Christ will at last be united forever with the Lamb. The realization that this long awaited day has come overpowers John, who falls to his knees in worship. This remarkable section of Revelation, which begins with an announcement of the marriage of the Lamb (19:6-10), leads on to the return of Christ as messianic conqueror. . . As the visions follow one after another [19:1 – 20:15], they leave an ever deepending awareness that God really is in control and that righteounsess will reign eternally supreme."
