How Genuine Faith Redeems Work
We often grumble about the toil and injustice that can come from our jobs. Peter reminds us that we are to be ambassadors for Jesus at work as well, respecting our bosses and doing good to everyone there while patiently enduring the letdowns and frustrations that come with any job. We should do this because Jesus set the example for loving people while He was being insulted and abused, enduring the cross for our sake so that we could be reconciled to God.

Redeeming Relationships Part 7: At Work
Americans work more hours in a year than the citizens of any other country, but our work often feels unsatisfying and meaningless because there is so much toil and frustration. As Christians we should work with the attitude that our ultimate boss is Jesus Christ and we are to work in a way that pleases Him and our supervisors at work are just mid-level managers compared to Him. This means that we should work diligently and honestly because Christ sees everything that we do. We should treat our coworkers with care and respect instead of merely tolerating them or seeing them as obstacles to advancement, and we should treat employees with care instead of as expendable assets to be sacrificed to advance our careers. It also means that we should work hard to provide for our families and use our wages help advance the Gospel by giving to the church and to those in need.
