Prayer: Living the Connect – Hearing Palm Sunday 2013 Text: Galatians 5:16-26; John 10:27-29 Key Thought: God wants us to hear from Him, which involves not only listening but also being ready to obey. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Galatians 5:25, NLT
That stepping up that is needed for us to carry out the trust God has given us, where will the power for that job come from? How will God bring about the change in us as individuals and as a congregation? God’s Spirit will do that work in us and He will do it by His Word.
In Paul's dark hour, his struggles, his stress and his challenge - he hears God's Voice. It's an antidote for his hopelessness, and for ours today.
In Acts 16 we discover that things are not going well between Paul and Barnabas. Doors are closing - yet God speaks... and His voice changes everything.
Coming to recognize the voice of the Good Shepherd
We feel comfortable speaking to God in prayer, but not much less certain about understanding what it means for God to speak to us. In the final week of this two-week message series, Senior Pastor Jim Johnson will help us find an answer to the important question, “How Do I Know God’s Voice?”
So many people in our country ae failing to have a direct line of communication with God. We hear voices in our heads. We think really hard to make decisions. We fail to realize that the Holy Spirit speaks. He is the voice of Jesus Christ that will lead and guide us to the truth that we need. The first basic encounter with the Spirit has to be in the area of being able to hear the voice of God himself. The first encounter that comes to literally transform your life is learning to hear the voice of God. THe study of God's Word reveals who God is so you will know when He speaks.
Have you ever wondered how you know if you are hearing from God? Hear about the ways God speaks to us today.
