Sermons About Weary
All for One, & one for All
In the scripture this morning we see the Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem. We see the colt that had never been ridden; we see the crown throwing their garments in the way, cutting down palm limbs to throwing them in the way of the colt. They cried out Hosanna, a term of adoration. However in verse 10, once in the city of Jerusalem, others asked “Who is this?”

Rest
God rested from all His work on the seventh day. Have you ever wondered, "why would God need to rest?" Especially, when He has all the power and energy. The 4th commandment says, "remember the sabbath day by keeping it Holy" -- how do we apply this command in the new covenant? In this message, Miles shows us the greatness of God is seen as He welcomes us into his rest.

All Who Are Spiritually Weary and Seek Rest
Our church has a very nice (waarm and fuzzy) "welcome" on the front of the bulletin. If we take an honest look at it then examine our hearts what would we find? Would the answer(s) be surprising?

A Weary World Rejoices Part 1 - God's Character on Trial
Jesus' birth came at a time of great stress, uncertainty and economic difficulty. Sound familiar? The world we live in today is hurried, frantic, uncertain and stress-filled. Some people aren't living so much as they are surviving - trying their best to keep everything together. Many of us evaluate God's character based on our circumstances. We struggle trusting Him in a world where we experience anxiety and pain everyday. Yet, when Christ entered the world the angels proclaimed "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." How can we be confident in God and trust His character when everything around us is being shaken? "A Weary World Rejoices" is a series that examines how Jesus can make a difference in our world, and in our lives, both in desperate need for peace.

Days Weary and Light
Part 2 in a 5 part Christmas series: A Place to Start. In many ways, Christmas, like life, is what we choose to make it. The choices about who we trust (or not) determine the outcomes of it. The Christmas story is the message of Christianity: God loves us so much that He sent His Son into the world to save whoever chooses to trust in Christ, & thereby start over.

Two Days
Learning to not grow weary through our struggles and learning to drop everything we are doing in the heat of the moment to do what is most important, which is seeking a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and fixing our eyes on Him. It is not our circumstances that need to be changed, but rather our focus on Jesus Christ.

Rest is an Inside Job
“RUNNING ON EMPTY†Rest is an Inside Job Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30 Isaiah 40:11; 30-31 “It does not differ with me whether I am in prayer or hearing the noise and clutter of my kitchen, while several persons are at the same time calling for things, I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were upon my knees.†Stated by Brother Lawrence in The Practice of the Presence of God over 200 years ago 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.†JESUS OFFERS THREE SOLUTIONS. 1. “Come to Me†2. “Take My yoke upon you†3. “Learn from Me†WHY ARE THESE SOLUTIONS SUCH A BIG DEAL? 1. Why come to Him? Because you will find rest for your soul! 2. Why take His yoke? Because it will be the best fit for you. 3. Why learn from Him? Because you will learn how to rest while working. TWO POWERFUL SYMBOLS THAT BRING HOPE FOR US CHANGE. (Isaiah 40:11; 30-31) 1. He tends His flock like a Shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads those that have young. 2. Those who wait upon the Lord will soar like eagles and never grow weary

Hurried Sickness: Restoring the Weary Heart
“RUNNING ON EMPTY†Hurried Sickness: Restoring the Weary Heart Hurried sickness is a pattern of going too fast and doing too much for too long leaving you feeling physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually exhausted and empty. Hurried sickness is ultimately a confusion of priorities. Our time and energy become focused in the wrong direction. What is the greatest cost of hurried sickness? The ability to love - love and hurry are fundamentally incompatible. Love requires energy - energy is something that hurried people do not have. Love also requires passion, for hurried people passion is in short supply. Our top priority or purpose on this earth is to love God and other people with all our heart.
