Sermons About Wife
Gospel-Centered Husbands
Gospel-Centered Husbands A gospel-centered husband is one who cultivates the gospel in himself and in his wife. Far too many husbands spend their time cultivating their careers and their hobbies rather than the gospel. By reorienting our lives to Jesus, we have THE example of what a gospel- centered husband should be in Christ's relationship to his bride, the church.

Oneness
Let’s review. Building a marriage is like building a castle. Castles provide protection for the occupants inside. Our final wall is built as a man and woman “are united into one.” In the area of intimacy and connection we are asking the questions of how God sees sex and oneness and if there is a way to maximize intimacy in our marriage relationship (present or future).

How Genuine Faith Redeems Family
God’s roles for men and women in marriage have been offensive in varying ways in each of the cultures that the Gospel has met. Some people are offended that women are asked to submit, and some are offended that the man is called to honor his wife and treat her as an equal. God has set up His plan for marriage in such a way that it enables each other to stop jockeying for power in the marriage and love each other sacrificially. The husband is to step up, take responsibility for the family. He is to lead by example and with sacrificial love, not by intimidation, domination, or abuse. The wife is to willingly submit to this sacrificial leadership and not nag, boss around, or emotionally manipulate her husband. When both people do this according to God’s good plan it is a beautiful picture of how Jesus Christ loves the church as His beloved bride.

Leaving Mommy or Daddy’s Castle
Building a marriage is like building a castle. Castles provide protection for the occupants inside. What are the four walls for building a castle that will provide safety for a husband and wife to build intimacy and oneness? What does it mean when we try to make a castle work with only two or three walls? Our second wall we put in place is is thru “leaving mom and dad.”

Countercultural Relationships
"Married and bored...single and lonely." According to one American philosopher those are our only two options. But he is wrong. The Scriptures tell us that our only two options are to either submit to God in any given relationship or to not submit to God in that relationship. The Bible teaches that our human relationships are directly related to our relationship with God. Thus, if we want to judge our spiritual health a good place to start is by looking at our relationships with other people. Listen in as we examine our relationship with God by examining our relationships with others.

Different By Design
Men and women, created in the image of God, are equal in value, importance, significance and dignity. But in a reflection of the glorious unity and diversity of the Trinity, men and women are also created and called by God to serve in different but complementary roles. In the context of the church and family, men are called by God to lead and provide, and women are called by God to help. This calling predates mankind's fall into sin.
To say all this is barely to scratch the surface; applying this requires careful attention to God's commands and a watchfulness that we do not fall into the various temptations that beset us as men and women. But there is great joy to be found in walking out God's calling for us.
Scriptures referenced include Genesis 1-3; 1 Corinthians 11:3,7-11; 1 Corinthians 15:22,28; Romans 5:15; 1 Timothy 2:13,15; Colossians 3:18; Titus 2:4-5; Ephesians 5:22-25; 1 Peter 3:1-6; 1 Timothy 5:9,14; Proverbs 31:28.

Marriage
The call of God in marriage is for a man to love and sacrifice for his wife and a wife to submit to and respect her husband. These aren't mere commands to keep the divorce rate from growing. These are essentials for a family that will continue the Cultural Mandate to fill the earth and subdue it.

Jesus Speaks on Marriage (Mark 10:1-12)
Jesus is Lord over marriage; he established marriage, and intends that marriage should last as long as husband and wife are both alive. Jesus confronts the Pharisees for starting with the question of divorce. In order to determine God's perspective on divorce and remarriage, we need to begin with God's perspective on marriage itself.

Redeeming Relationships Part 1: Husband and Wife
God created marriage to be a blessing to a man and a woman because it is not good for us to be alone, but our rebellion from God means that everything He created, including marriage, has been made crooked by the curse. As a result, what He created for comfort, companionship, and passion can degenerate into an uneasy truce of boredom and separate lives. Just like we can be redeemed to God through Jesus and His death for us on the cross, our marriages can be redeemed by God with His transforming love and wisdom so that through repentance, forgiveness, and the embracing of His roles for a husband and wife our marriages heal and become more like His original design.

Worth Dying For
At the beginning of all things we find God creating humanity in his image. Because of that lone event humanity is deeply loved and valued by our Creator. Playing on those early statements we find the apostle Paul clarify the relationship between a husband and a wife. But his statements have great significance for all our relationships.
