Sermons About Witness
Having a Missional Heart
This series has been a necessary wake-up call for all of us. We have come to see the immeasurable value of taking these walks across rooms ...just to see what God might do. How do we maintain the momentum we've gained in the past four weeks? How does our church keep this evangelistic fire burning in the coming days, weeks, months, years ...so that instead of this being a one time shot in the arm we experience a significant life change? What I hope to do this morning is to plant a seed in your soul that will take root and grow so that you will experience a deep transformation of heart and mind. This calls for a new heart, a missional heart.

Grander Vision Living
This morning you will hear the fourth message in the "Walk Across the Room" series. We were reminded in the first message of the single greatest gift we can offer people by introducing them to the creator and lover of their souls, God himself. We also heard about "living in 3D" -developing friendships, discovering stories and discerning appropriate next steps. This past Sunday we were reminded of the power of story with each of you invited to write your story and send it to mystory@maplecitychapel.com In today's message you will be asked to partner with God in the most magnificent mission imaginable: finding what is lost, restoring what is broken, and reclaiming what is His.

The Single Greatest Gift
I'm glad you are here today, because this is the first week in our "Walk Across the Room" series. Thanks to all of you who are taking the time to read the book. This six week experience is going to radically change the way you and I view evangelism. If you are a Christ-follower, I know that what you want most is to touch the lives of people you know, people you love, those who are living their lives far from God. How do we begin? You got it: with a "Walk Across the Room". Pastor Mel Shetler

John 1-19-34 The Glory of Christ and Our Mission pt. 1
John 1:1-18 was a missional song or poem describing the rest of the book’s content, introducing Jesus Christ as the Word, the one that reveals the Father. John departs from the poetic musings of the prologue (John 1:1-18), and moves into a narrative stretch telling the author’s version of the story of Jesus and His public ministry. Starting with the first two days, he reminds us what he was sent to do, and who is it that he was sent to be a witness of.

Acts 10:24-48 - Unlearning Sinful Habits
Peter explains to Cornelius how he had to unlearn the prejudice he harbored against Gentiles that he learned from his culture and learn how God loved all people and wants the Gospel to go out to all of the nations. We too have learned a lot of bad habits and misconceptions from our culture about what it means to follow Christ and be a part of a church and we will need to unlearn them in order to be effective witnesses for Christ.
