Paul has written from a Roman prison to his favorite church in a Roman colony at Philippi. They were experiencing turmoil due to a couple of ladies, Euodia and Syntyche, whose personal conflict had become public knowledge. And Paul says I love these fellow servants of Christ, but they must put aside their differences and "agree in the Lord". It is good that they hold to Christ ... it is good that they teach Christ ... but they also need to live Christ ... or no one is going to believe anything they have to say.
The body of Christ is to be valued.
The Holy Spirit's witness is vital and necessary to Christianity being a living faith rather than just on more dead religion!

1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 We know what our mission is, but how do we accomplish it? Paul here explains the lengths to which he goes to win people with the gospel message. It represents a radical denial of self in service of our unbelieving neighbor. The unwillingness of the modern Christians to be "all things to all people" is one of the reasons we do not see more fruit in our day.
