Go
We admit it. We have an agenda: we want you to join the church. All believers in Jesus in every time and place are members of the universal church, but committing to a local church is a vital part of the spiritual life for every Christ-follower. In our teaching series, CHURCH 101, we are taking several weeks to describe the foundational commitments of church membership. Our members are those who have accepted the mission of helping others become passionate followers of Jesus through the ministry and community of this church. Over the next few weeks, we will discuss what that means as we explore practically how we can live for Jesus as a part of His church.

The Promise of God's Purpose
Jesus taught His disciples that the Holy Spirit was coming in order to bear witness about Christ, His words, His work, and His will. As followers of Jesus, the Spirit desires to do that His work through us: bearing witness to God's Son.

Evangelism
16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, l who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us m the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us m the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Peter...In Conclusion
God had a plan for the salvation of mankind from eternity, and, yet, He never forces us to respond to it. Man, in his free will, may embrace it fully or he may act in opposition to it. Regardless of the response of man, God will always accomplish His divine will and purpose for His creation.
