Being Naturally Supernatural
To play off a quote of Mark Twain, the report of the death of signs and wonders has been greatly exaggerated. We are natural beings living in a natural world with a supernatural mission. That mission is to reach into the world of darkness and by the power of the Lord Almighty bring out those lost souls and make disciples of Jesus Christ of them. How can this be accomplished without the help of a supernatural God? This is a balanced, truthful message about operating in a realm in which God shows his power and might on our and others behalf.

Worthy Suffering (Acts 5:12-42)
The question we face is not if we will suffer, or when, but how we will suffer. We need to be worthy sufferers. Acts 5 provides a stunning example of worthy suffering as the Apostles face opposition, threats, and a possible death penalty for preaching in the name of Jesus.

The Miracle of Presence
What if God gave you a sign in the heavens to prove he was there? Would it be enough? Wouldn't we explain it away, at least in time, as we have so many other things? What we need isn't a sign in the heavens, what we need is faith in the Gospel message.

Pointing to Jesus
Reading through the Bible we are continually confronted with the supernatural. Beginning with the miracle of creation and culminating with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our rational world view is constantly interrupted. We have come to call these displays "signs and wonders." Moses and Pharoah, Elijah and Ahaz, Jesus and the demon-possessed: the list of "power encounters" could go on and on. If we read these encounters in their context and with the entire Bible as a backdrop, it becomes obvious that these signs are ALWAYS intended to point us back to God. The "signs" themselves are never an "end" but rather a "means to an end" that we might turn our attention and devotion to the Lord of the universe. Even today, God is interrupting the human experience to point us to Jesus. The only question is whether we have eyes to see. Key Passage: 1 Corinthians 12:7
