Sermons about Word
The Word of God has a life-changing impact. It turns the soul from sinful desires to God. It provides wisdom for life's choices for those lacking experience. It fills the emotions with joy. It gives moral judgments for decision-making. It produces an awe-inspiring obedience. It delivers a right and satisfying verdict.
This Sunday we learned how the word of God is like refreshing water to our bodies. This water from God needs to penetrate past our flesh, bones, soul, and into our spirits. Without this water, our spirit is not fed, and we are more that likely to burn out.
This week we embark on a four week journey exploring what made up the heart of the early church, beginning with the importance of listening to and meditating on the apostles' teaching.
That stepping up that is needed for us to carry out the trust God has given us, where will the power for that job come from? How will God bring about the change in us as individuals and as a congregation? God’s Spirit will do that work in us and He will do it by His Word.
Sermon on Ephesians 2:20 by Pastor Dan Hendley.
Sunday morning sermon delivered by senior pastor, Rudy Bropleh, using Psalms 1:1-3 as the basis for the following key points: 1) God's WORD should be PROMINENT in our lives, and 2) God's WORD is very PROFITABLE in our lives.
As the word made flesh, Jesus, is the embodiment and fulfillment of the written word of God. Jesus alone has the authority and the power to give his word and in doing so to give understanding of it, and, thereby life itself. You know you are looking at the true Church and a healthy church, as well as the true and healthy Christian life when God’s word is given its rightful place; its authority and power are recognized and responded to in accordance with what God’s word is. If we are going to identify the true and healthy Church, the true and healthy Christian life we must not only receive knowledge of these things from God’s word we must glory in God’s word for it alone is truth and life. 2Cor 11:14 tells us that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. In other words, the most powerful forms of deception do not remain outside the church but take their stand within it. The world embraces and operates according to its own objects of worship. The world has beliefs about all the seven basic doctrines of the Christian faith, only they do not have Jesus as the central focus but human beings. At their core they embrace the basic humanistic belief system of the culture but use the terms of the bible and Christian theology to express it. One of the manifestations of this is the way the biblical doctrine of salvation is expressed as self-fulfillment and self-discovery.
The Bible is not about us or about our lives. It is about the work of God through His Son - the Word of God. And that has tremendous impact on us and our lives.
