Redeeming Relationships Part 7: At Work
Americans work more hours in a year than the citizens of any other country, but our work often feels unsatisfying and meaningless because there is so much toil and frustration. As Christians we should work with the attitude that our ultimate boss is Jesus Christ and we are to work in a way that pleases Him and our supervisors at work are just mid-level managers compared to Him. This means that we should work diligently and honestly because Christ sees everything that we do. We should treat our coworkers with care and respect instead of merely tolerating them or seeing them as obstacles to advancement, and we should treat employees with care instead of as expendable assets to be sacrificed to advance our careers. It also means that we should work hard to provide for our families and use our wages help advance the Gospel by giving to the church and to those in need.

Jesus, Worthy to Reign
In this week's message we delve further into Hebrews chapters 4 through 9. This section of the book clearly teaches on the sovreignty and priesthood of Christ. Jesus came to this earth and lived a blameless life; He experienced the world that we live in yet, even to death, he remained pure and wholly dependant upon God. Through Jesus' example we too are challenged to depend on God fully, so that we can reign, as priests, with Him. Are you reigning, today? Key Passage: Hebrews 4:14 - 9:10

Grander Vision Living
This morning you will hear the fourth message in the "Walk Across the Room" series. We were reminded in the first message of the single greatest gift we can offer people by introducing them to the creator and lover of their souls, God himself. We also heard about "living in 3D" -developing friendships, discovering stories and discerning appropriate next steps. This past Sunday we were reminded of the power of story with each of you invited to write your story and send it to mystory@maplecitychapel.com In today's message you will be asked to partner with God in the most magnificent mission imaginable: finding what is lost, restoring what is broken, and reclaiming what is His.

Wisdom for Work
At Creation, we see God at work, inviting humanity to join him by cultivating the raw materials of creation. Therefore, work is a good gift from God and an important part of being human. Proverbs offers practical wisdom about what work we should be doing and how we should go about doing it.

The Eighth Commandment (Exodus 20:15)
God's prohibition of stealing covers a great variety of sins, from robbery and burglary to embezzlement (including how we spend our time at work), fraud, enslavement, and robbing God. There is stealing in each of our hearts, and the root of it is our failure to trust in God's provision, and in our covetousness. In Christ, who died between two thieves, we find provision for forgiveness, and power to work faithfully for our provision and so that we may give to others.

The Fourth Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11)
God gives us one day of rest each week as a gift, as an occasion to remember his goodness in saving us and anticipate heaven, and as an opportunity to worship him and fellowship with his people.
