How does the gospel change how we work, rest, and play?
Gospel Driven Work
The work of Christ was done perfectly, so that the Father would be glorified, and man could enter into eternal life. When we follow Christ, we become motivated and energized to follow in His footsteps of glorifying the Father in our own work. Even though we can never accomplish this perfectly like Christ, The Spirit grants us the strength, boldness, and direction to perform our work greatly, and to go into our lives sharing the Gospel with co-workers, friends, and family.
Working as a City Within a City
When we are saved into Christ, we are sealed as eternal members in God's Kingdom. While the perfect city of God awaits us, we can work and pray for our fellow inhabitants in the city of man to become citizens of Heaven. Let's be the tools that God uses to cultivate and grow a new generation of believers and do all our work to the praise of His Glory!
Relationships Take Work
The Bible is a strange book. It publicly exposes controversial correspondence between apostles and dysfunctional churches. Most of the New Testament is a testament to problems in relationships. Why is so much of the Bible about problem people having troubles in relationships?
The Masks of God: Understanding Work as Vocation
Have you ever thought to yourself, "What is my purpose in life, what am I called to do?" The bible teaches us that all of our work, regardless of the occupation, can be to the glory of God and to the spreading of His kingdom on earth. Let's turn our work into service towards others, and fulfill our roles as member's of the church body, spreading the truth and love of God wherever we work!
Money & Stuff - The Work Factor
Budgeting 101. Less money going out each month than coming into the household is the key.
The Joy of Sharing
We must "share out" what we "share in." We get to share in everything the Father has given to Jesus. Joy is the by-product of making the right decision.
Why Work Matters
God has been working since before the foundations of the world, and since we are created in His image, that means we are made to work as well. However, because of the fall, work has become corrupted, and we often turn it into an idol in our lives, despite the fact that it leaves no lasting satisfaction, and even adds to our levels of stress and anxiety. Make the commitment to living your life for God, and find that lasting fulfillment in every aspect of your life, including work!
Work out your salvation
Preacher: Pastor Tony Simpson. Passage: Philippians 2 vv12-13. Paul speaks of the Christian working out his salvation, working out the implications of being a Christian in a fallen world. We are to do this through the changing seasons of life and in the knowledge that Jesus sees all we do. However we are not alone in this work, God works in us by His Spirit so that we grow in Christlikeness. He will complete the work He has started and lead us to our final salvation.
