Having called for a Biblically qualified leadership, the Apostle Paul now turns to explaining the need for such leadership in the local church. The dangerous reality of false teachers and false teaching demands an eldership that is qualified in character, gifting, and doctrine.

Nobody's Fault But Mine - James 1:13-15
When we do wrong things, there's a tendency to place the blame on anyone or anything but us: our spouses, our parents, our upbringing, our ethnicity, the Devil, or even God himself. In reality, the blame belongs to us and us alone. The sooner we realize and believe that, the sooner we can see that our own sin leads us to death, while God leads us to live through Jesus Christ.

Hear, Do!
There is a lot of superficial belief in the church these days. People sit in the church every Sunday, or at least when it is convenient for them, and "say" they believe, but their life doesn't show that belief in what they do. James tells us that who we are and what we believe shows in what we do.

The Purpose of the Law - Galatians #7
As we have been walking through the book of Galatians, one message has come through loud and clear--we cannot relate to God on the basis of obedience to a list of commands, rules, or guidelines. God's grace is the only means we have to enter into a relationship with God and the only means we have to walk with Him every day as a follower of Christ. And as we move ahead in Galatians chapter 3 today, Paul will answer the question for us, "What is the purpose of the law, then?"

If you were on trial for being a follower of Christ, would you be found guilty? Would there even be enough evidence to arrest you?
