A Deeper understanding of the Covenants that we have with God
Philippians 4:10-13 | Encouragement in Christ: Amidst Discontentment
Worrying never solved any problems. IN this passage God is showing us that to live a life of worry over the small details is the same as telling God He is not big enough to handle it. Where there is worry, there is no room for genuine faith.
The humility to which Peter calls his overwhelmed readers is a humility motivated by faith that God is mighty, and mighty in His concern for our absolute good.
Our typical approach to worry is this: 1) Either we worry a lot and tell a lot of people that this is our one issue. People tell us to stop worrying, but we try hard to stop worrying, but we end up worrying about worrying. 2) Or we have the “don’t worry be happy” mentality and we go the other extreme. We don’t act responsibly. We aren’t sensitive to sin. And we kind of live the laissez faire lifestyle.
How to avoid undue worry through prayer, commitment and service.
Anxiety and worry are at epidemic levels. In an age and country of unprecedented wealth and comfort, why are we racked with anxiety. Listen to explore how Jesus can stand in between us and the circumstances that cause us worry to provide peace.
Anxieties and worries will take us completely captive if we allow them to. God is calling us to take a leap of faith out of our Anxieties and our worries. An anxious heart keeps us from being able to live the life that God has planned for us. It holds us back, and holds us down. An Anxious heart is insecure, worried, tired, and see ourselves and others in a negative light. God’s desire is that we live a life of joy in all circumstances and that we begin to cast our anxieties on him because he cares for us.
Fear (Depression, Anxiety, Sadness, Loneliness, Worry, etc) does not come from God. When we put our faith in Him, we can live with a smile on our face in spite of our circumstances.
