The Nature of the Church
I want to be very clear this morning as I show you from this text five characteristics of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. 1. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a multi-ethnic congregation. 2. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a redeemed congregation. 3. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a worshipping congregation. 4. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a persecuted congregation. 5. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a protected congregation.

The Performance Trap - Parent Trap #3
Parents are the most influential people in a child’s life. Good parents always want what is best for their children. They want good things for their kids: to be happy, productive and moral. But good things out of place can become dangerous. Well meaning parents regularly step into traps that poison a child’s faith in the name of something good. Don’t fall into the "Parent Trap." By looking at major Bible themes, Lead Pastor Jeff Lawrence helps parents avoid the traps that damage a child’s faith. The Birth of Foreign Missions
Acts 13:1-12 The church at Antioch was the birthplace of all foreign missions. The work of foreign missions began with a prayer meeting among five men who had a zeal for obeying Jesus Christ and seeing the gospel spread to the ends of the earth. Barnabas, Simeon, Manaen, Lucius, and Saul were men who had a clear understanding of the mission that had been given to them by Christ. The church at Antioch sent these men forth and supported them on their mission. The model set forth by the church at Antioch, provides us with five marks that exemplify the kind of church that has a mindset for missions. By God's grace, this example should help our church to develop a global vision to take the gospel to everyone in the world who has yet to hear it. The people of the church at Antioch were: 1. WELL EQUIPPED by their leadership (v. 1) 2. WORSHIPERS of the Lord (v. 2) 3. WILLING to send and be sent (v. 3) 4. WISE in their course of action (vv. 4-5) 5. WARRING against the forces of Satan (vv. 6-12) Missions exist because worship does not. There is a whole world out there that does not acknowledge God and does not worship Him. James Montgomery Boyce eloquently stated "The mission of the church is sending people by the church under the leadership of the Holy Spirit into areas of the world where the name of Jesus Christ is not known and God is not worshiped." A mindset for missions starts with a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart of missions flows out of a heart of worship. If we are not consumed with worshiping the Lord ourselves we will not care about the worship of others!

Praise the Lord!
Bible students call the last five psalms the 'Hallelujah Psalms'. This is because they all start and end with the Hebrew word "Hallelujah". Here, at the end of the book of Psalms, God agrees to love and give help to His people. And His people agree to love and obey Him. Nothing is more reasonable or more logical than worship. If God doesn't exist then worship is insanity. You're worshipping someone that isn't real. But if God exists then nothing is more logical or reasonable than worship. If God exists, then anything less than all-out worship is totally illogical. Key Passage: Psalm 146-150

What Jesus Said About Worshiping God
Most churches call the Sunday am service a “worship” service, but whether or not you worship God is actually up to you, not the music, or the leader, or the message, or anything else. You decide whether YOU worship or not
