Rest is an Inside Job
“RUNNING ON EMPTY” Rest is an Inside Job Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30 Isaiah 40:11; 30-31 “It does not differ with me whether I am in prayer or hearing the noise and clutter of my kitchen, while several persons are at the same time calling for things, I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were upon my knees.” Stated by Brother Lawrence in The Practice of the Presence of God over 200 years ago 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” JESUS OFFERS THREE SOLUTIONS. 1. “Come to Me” 2. “Take My yoke upon you” 3. “Learn from Me” WHY ARE THESE SOLUTIONS SUCH A BIG DEAL? 1. Why come to Him? Because you will find rest for your soul! 2. Why take His yoke? Because it will be the best fit for you. 3. Why learn from Him? Because you will learn how to rest while working. TWO POWERFUL SYMBOLS THAT BRING HOPE FOR US CHANGE. (Isaiah 40:11; 30-31) 1. He tends His flock like a Shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads those that have young. 2. Those who wait upon the Lord will soar like eagles and never grow weary

Am All Loving
Think of your favorite dish. Is there someone who should taste and see how good it is? God's love is like that. It has to be tasted to be believed. Sometimes it's easier to be ok with the belief that God loves the world. Yet we struggle with the idea that He loves us individually. But if He is all-loving, then I can experience His love regardless of how I feel. If God is all-loving, then I can invite other's to experience His love. Who would we be praying for?
