I Mean It
It’s the three words parents break out when they get serious: “I mean it.” Of course, depending on what has happened up to that point, “I mean it,” may or may not mean anything. Sometimes these words call to mind the boy who cried wolf. He made false cries so many times that when a real wolf showed up, no one believed him. Many people see God as the boy who cried wolf. They hear what he says, but they are not sure they can trust him. Moses was one of these kinds of people for a while. He struggled in his faith, but ultimately did not carry out God’s commands to him in some areas. Today, we see one of the areas in Moses’ life where he experienced difficulty because of his lack of obedience to God. But God in his mercy still keeps his promises to Moses.
