"Instructions for the Rich" Sermon 50 of 1 Timothy - The Christian Life, Money, Pride, Giving & Tithing
Join us as we learn that we start our series titled Breaking Free: What is holding you back from following Christ. For far too many Christians, their financial debt is holding them hostage. What could the people of God do for the kingdom of God if they were debt free? Our hope is that this sermon will inspire you to live a life of generosity.
How can Christians use their material riches to the glory of God? What are the traps of earthly-riches? This sermon deals with these questions as we get to the end of the book of 1 Timothy.
As we come to the end of our study in this pastoral epistle ... the apostle Paul gives young Timothy three C's regarding money; verses 3-8 ... be Content; verses 9-10 ... be Cautious; and in these final verses ... be Contributors. We saw earlier that being a lover of money has nothing to do with what you make; it has everything to do with how you view it and you use it. You can be materialistic making minimum wage; or you can be making millions and be an extremely, godly, steward of everything the Lord entrusts to you. Now in our text this morning the Lord is going to address "the rich" ... tell us the source of our "riches" ... and commands us "to be rich". This is a text on "Getting Rich God's Way"
