On Work
Paul, Timothy and Silvanus urge the believers in Thessalonika, Greece to work for a living and to avoid those who are idle. Here Stephen traces the importance of work back to the creation of Man - we are designed for work and given a charge. Because of Adam's sin, man's work is harder than was intended, but no less important, purposeful or part of our responsibility. Stephen encourages believers to evaluate their attitudes to work to ensure they are aligned with God's thinking , and to seek out meaningful, productive work wherever we may find it, whether paid for it or not. There is joy in living out out God-given purpose.
