The Demas Conundrum Part 2
Loving the present world is a serious indictment. You know how we can tell if we are like Demas and loving the world? When we try and justify our worldly behavior above what is expected of us as a Believer. When we have more joy in doing worldly things rather than the things of the faith. When our love for the world pushes out, or to the side, our love for the faith. What have our conundrums revealed about our true character and commitment? Are we like Paul or Demas?
The Demas Conundrum Part 1
We all in our walk with God will sooner or later have a “Demas Conundrum” experience: a confusing and difficult problem or question with God. Sadly, to say we know the choice Demas made, he chose to run away and run to the world, but what about you when faced with the tough situations in life? When it comes to total commitment and devotion to Christ, the gospel, the church and the Christian life, do you stay committed when things get tough or do you compromise and run to the world? Have you fallen short in godliness, holiness and righteousness to embrace worldliness? Have you deserted and forsaken the high calling of being a Christian upon your life to taking the road less traveled and easy way out? Does your heart love the pleasures of this present world more than suffering for Christ and the Gospel?
