Our Partnership in the Gospel (Philippians 4:10-20)
The Philippians serve as a model for us of a joyful partnership in the gospel. A significant aspect of this partnership was their giving to support Paul's ministry and to provide for the needs of the church in Jerusalem. This partnership met practical needs, helped to cultivate a unity in the gospel, and required sacrifice on their part.

How to be Genuine in our Giving and Receiving from One Another
Better Together – 40 Days of Community “How to be Genuine in our Giving and Receiving from One Another†Today’s Scripture: Philippians 4: 10-20 Be grateful for the gift of friendship. (Verse 10) A true relationship can’t grow when we are using the other person. (Verse 11) True happiness comes not from things but the sufficiency of Christ (Verse 12, 13) People in distress should experience a church community that genuinely cares (Verse 14) Be genuinely grateful for the giving of fellow Christ followers (Verse 1:5; 2:25-30; 4:15-20) Don’t seek their gift as much as rejoice in the fruit which is added to their account by their giving (Verse 17) You need to know that your gift is first of all a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice well pleasing to God. (Verse 18) You need to be reminded that God will supply all your needs from His glorious riches (Verse 19)

Fellowship of Joy: God’s Provision Philippians 4:10-23
Verse 19 is one of the favorite verses of prosperity gospel teachers. They hear “riches and glory†and thinks Rolexes and Benz’s. Paul knew nothing of this prosperity gospel. He writes from jail to a church that is likely facing sharp persecution and he is confident that God will provide all their needs according to God’s riches and glory. So clearly need is not defined here as comfortable circumstances and plenty of money. Given the context of contentment that Paul spoke of earlier, the primary focus is on God giving us the resources (spiritual and physical) necessary to rest and rejoice in Christ.
