The Missing Spirit of Christmas - The Shepherd Response
After a whole weekend of Christmas specials, we might come away feeling fairly confused. Each one has corrected us and told that we have missed the true spirit of Christmas..."it isn't this, its that". But each half hour special gives us a different version. This may leave us wondering if there really is one True Spirit of Christmas, or more valuably, it may lead us to wonder if there is some important message in the Gospel Christmas story that we may have missed. I think we do often miss this spirit of Christmas.

The God of the Universe Became a Man!
At Christmas we celebrate the incarnation. God becoming human and living among us. John 1:14 is well known and many use the phrase, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us", but do we truly realize the depth of this statement? Do we understand the expression of God's love for us in this very act? As we look at the greatness of our universe and understand that the God of the Bible is truly a big and powerful God we in turn marvel at "who is man that God is mindful of him". This pondering leads us to the humble heart that worships the person of Christ at Christmas. Come let us worship our maker, our Lord and our God this Christmas.
