Stand at the Crossroads
Are you trying to figure out life? Is it a mystery that we seek after pleasure and fun and end up empty? Check out this timeless verse given to the nation of Judah 2600 years ago! Jeremiah 6:16 "This is what the Lord says, STAND at the crossroads and LOOK; ASK for the ancient paths, ASK where the good way is and WALK in it, and you will find rest for your souls..." The only way we will truly find peace and contentment in life is to walk God's path. When we obey Him we have true joy in life!

I Want!
This poison we are looking at this morning is common and deadly. It demolishes contentment and damages relationships and destroys homes. In the Bible it is called covetousness.

I am what I own (Part Two)
Not only did God not choose those with immortality symbols, he chose the foolish and the weak and the lowly and the despised… those who are essentially nothing in the eyes of the world! That sure does away with spiritual pride, doesn’t it?

This morning is the first in a series of messages inspired by the book, "Death by Suburb: How to keep the suburbs from killing your soul", by David Goetz. This morning we will look at an dominant cultural value that poisons our soul--"I am what I do and what I own".

Facing our darkest secrets
Most of us remember it as a story of a man who tried to run away from God’s will who is swallowed by a great fish and who repents and ends us preaching in Nineveh--and of course it ends with "and they all lived happily ever after." Only Jonah doesn't end with these classic fairytale words!

Expect God to Work—even when we fail
Over the years, as a pastor, I’ve had a number of conversations with people who feel like they cannot be used by God. They feel like a player who rides the bench or is sent down to the minors or is cut from the team. Jonah 3 proves how wrong that perception might be!

Getting Back on Track
Jonah tried to run away from God’s will for his life—a big mistake. God sent two things to get Jonah’s attention and get him back on track. First he sent a fierce storm and second he sent a great fish.

God's Call to Ministry
I believe that each of us is here for a reason. I also believe that it is our responsibility is to explore, discover and live for those purposes for which God is recreating us in Christ. In this series of messages from the book of Jonah, we will investigate the story of a man who heard God’s call and ran the opposite direction.

It's as Simple as a Handshake
Could God use a handshake to change the direction of someone's life? We often think it is only if we can do something big for God that really counts...rather than simply being available to be used of God. Sardis Fellowship faces the same challenges other churches do of being a place that welcomes all people in the hope that they too will find the love of Christ. We're not called to attend church, we are called to be the church. How are we doing?
