GOD’S HOUSE

I Timothy 3:15

15

but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the

church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

1. Of worship

Psalm 42:4

When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the

house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

2. The Father

Hebrews 3:6

but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the

hope firm to the end.

 intimacy

Matthew 12:35 NIV

35

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil

stored up in him.

Luke 2:19 NIV

19

But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Proverbs 24:3-4

    Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established;

By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.

 (people as storehouses)

3. Of prayer

Isaiah 56:7

Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and

their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.

Matthew 28:19-20

19

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

Holy Spirit,

20

teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the

age." Amen.

B. THE STOREHOUSE

1. Treasury chamber; sign of prosperity and blessing; evidence of accumulated wealth. Thus: house of  blessing - for the

committed.

Psalm 65:4

4

Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with

the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple.

Psalm 36:8

They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.

Psalm 92:12-14

12

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13

Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bear fruit in old

age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,

2. Warehouse for the Storehouse

Deuteronomy 28:12 NIV

12

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work

of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

II Corinthians 9:8 AMP

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always

and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and

furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

Psalm 31:19;

19

Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those

who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!

Ecclesiastes 2:26

26

For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of

gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God.

(God provides excess when we cover base!)

3. Provision for nations

Genesis 41:49-57

49

Joseph gathered very much grain, as the sand of the sea, until he stopped counting, for it was immeasurable.

50

And to Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah

priest of On, bore to him.

51

Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: "For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father's

house.“

52

And the name of the second he called Ephraim: "For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction."

53

Then the seven years of plenty which were in the land of Egypt ended,

54

and the seven years of famine began to come, as Joseph had said. The famine was in all lands, but in all the land of

Egypt there was bread.

55

So when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread. Then Pharaoh said to all the

Egyptians, "Go to Joseph; whatever he says to you, do."

56

The famine was over all the face of the earth, and Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold to the Egyptians. And

the famine became severe in the land of Egypt.

57

So all countries came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain, because the famine was severe in all lands.

C. POWER OF DESTINY

1. Awesome success = a choice

Lamentations 1:9

9

“...She did not consider her destiny; Therefore her collapse was awesome...”

2. Create global capacity

Nehemiah 13:10-14

10

I also realized that the portions for the Levites had not been given them; for each of the Levites and the singers who

did the work had gone back to his field.

11

So I contended with the rulers, and said, "Why is the house of God forsaken?" And I gathered them together and set

them in their place.

12

Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the storehouse.

13

And I appointed as treasurers over the storehouse Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites,

Pedaiah; and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were considered faithful, and

their task was to distribute to their brethren.

14

Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my

God, and for its services!

(i.e. surplus for budget and strategic planning)

3. Where your heart is

 Passion

Matthew 6:20-21

20

but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in

and steal.

21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Psalm 84:2, 10

My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

10

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell

in the tents of wickedness.

 Faith (for stewardship)

Philippians 4:16-17, 19

16

For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.

17

Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.

19

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

 Commitment (tithe represents loving obedience)
