Jesus is Lord over marriage; he established marriage, and intends that marriage should last as long as husband and wife are both alive. Jesus confronts the Pharisees for starting with the question of divorce. In order to determine God's perspective on divorce and remarriage, we need to begin with God's perspective on marriage itself.
