But Who Is My Neighbor?

The story of the Good Samaritan is unique, found only in Luke. The purpose of the parable is to illustrate that we do not get to choose who our neighbor is. Likewise, our neighbors do not choose who they are, but can only be what God made. Extending care to all human persons is the lesson of the Good Samaritan. Difference of background, and particularly of sexuality in this sermon is no excuse for failing to serve and care for others.

This letter from Paul is a slap on the wrist, telling the Galatians to stop listening to people who aren’t Paul or Christ.
