Stay Awake
While at his post, the guard stays alert, keeps watch. He reports all suspicious activity; he sounds the alarm when danger is near. He never sleeps on duty and is always prepared to act at a moment's notice. To be on guard is the responsibility of those assigned as guardians. They stand watch in the towers and remain vigilant and are trustworthy. The Church has been given the task of being a guardian of the faith handed down from Christ to His Apostles. She must "stay awake," being ever ready to sound the alarm.

Why Do We Baptize Infants? The Baptism of Andrew Saulsbury
The baptism of an infant is a joyous thing! But does it carry the same weight as an adult baptism? Does God through the Holy Spirit act the same? Isn't it better to be an adult? What about faith? God made a covenant to Abraham and to hsi children; the sign of being in the covenant was circumcision (for all males persons over 8 days old); the sign used by Jesus in the New Testament is baptism - for all person - male and female, young and old; infant or adult.

Come to the Wedding Feast
This message kicks off the 2008/2009 stewardship drive for our church. The economy is "in the tank" - many have lost money in the stock market and their 401k program. Tension fills the air as uncertainty grows. What does the future hold? Step back. How holds are future? What is our true ultimate conern? The stock market or is it something else? As a church how are we to respond when things look really bleak? Does worry save the day? Or holding on to every penny we can - will that help? Does that fulfill the missionwe're really on? I don't think so.
