As we have studied, we see that the book of Nehemiah completes the story of the Jew’s return from captivity.  This book recaps how God used Nehemiah and others to fulfill His plan of redemption for His people.  It is a book about vision, prayer, leadership and mission.  Nehemiah displays great courage as he takes on the humanly impossible task of mobilizing fearful and demoralized people to unite and to successfully rebuild the walls of Jerusalem , thereby reestablishing the security and hope of a nation.  All of this work had the great purpose of bringing glory back to God.
