“The Treasure is Mine, Mine, Mine”
Luke 12:13-34

Key Verses: “But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

‘Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.’”  Luke 12:31-32  (NIV)

“To seek first the kingdom is to desire above all to enter into, submit to, and participate in spreading the news of the saving reign of God, the Messianic kingdom already inaugurated by Jesus, and to live so as to store up treasures in heaven in the prospect of the kingdom’s consummation.”  D.A. Carson

We can rest in His...

1. care, protection and provision. He is our Shepherd, we are His little flock.

“the mood [of Jesus’ ministry] is not what many think of today as ‘religious’, where people attend a church service, maybe sense God’s presence and love for a few moments, and then return to ordinary life though little or nothing had happened. This is much more like the concentrated campaign of someone running for high office, in a country where political opponents and their supporters will literally come to blows, and perhaps try to imprison or impeach one another.”  N.T. Wright

2. love, tenderness, authority and guidance. He is our Father.

3. power, authority, sovereignty and wealth. He is the King.

“A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his own imagination.”  Proverbs 18:11  (NAS)

4. generosity. He is a giver of only good gifts - He gives the Kingdom to His children.

“He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like the         green leaf.”  Proverbs 11:28  (NAS)

5. joy. He is a happy King.
