Ready, Set, Grow!

Ready, Set, Grow!

Preparing for 40 Days of Love

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up (GROWING) in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.  Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)

                                                        experience of growth

                                                        experience of growth.

                                                        experience of growth.

2 Chronicles 16:9.  “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”  2 Chronicles 16:9 (NIV)

“He [Jesus] gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us and to make us his very own people totally committed to doing what is right.”  Titus 2:14 (NLT)

To love at all is to be vulnerable.  Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken.  If you want to make sure of keeping it in tact you must give your heart to no one.  Not even to an animal.  Wrap it carefully around with hobbies and little luxuries.  Avoid all entanglements.  Lock it up, safe in the casket of your selfishness.  But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change.  It will not be broken.  It will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”  --C.S. Lewis

Balance in learning

These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.   Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.   Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.  Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (NIV)

Balance in Living God’s

Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly . . . 1 Corinthians 9:26 (NIV)

From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.  Ephesians 4:16 (NIV)

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  Hebrews 10:24 (NIV)
