Repent

Repent!!! The bible speaks about an awesome God. It is like a window we can look through to access an insight into God we would never otherwise have. We have received the opportunity to learn how He formed the worlds with His words. How He made man in His image using His fingers. How it all went wrong for the human race when they decided they would be better off on their own without this God. We go onto learn how He provided us with a way of escape from a lost eternity. Than it shows us that God is going to pour His Spirit out on all people and give us a divine encounter and draw all people to Himself. God promise us His power. Now I’m afraid. My fear is that a generation that claim to be married to our Heavenly God and Saviour aren’t living as they should. They are like an unfaithful spouse that quietly creeps out of their marriage bed to go and visit the bed of another. Not just flirting with others but plainly and openly committing adulterous acts in the sight of an awesome and terrifying God. There was once a man huddled on the cabin floor and was slowly freezing to death. It was high in the Rockies in south-western Alberta , and outside a blizzard raged. John Elliott had logged miles that day through the deep snows of the mountain passes. As dusk and exhaustion overcame him he had decided to "hole-up." He made it wearily to his cabin but somewhat dazed with fatigue, he did not light a fire or remove his wet clothing. As the blizzard blasted through the cracks in the old cabin walls, the sleeping forest ranger sank into oblivion. Suddenly, however, his dog sprang into action, and with unrelenting whines, finally managed to rouse his near-comatose friend. The dog was John's constant companion, a St. Bernard. "If that dog hadn't been with me, I'd be dead today," John Elliott says. "When you're freezing to death you actually feel warm all over, and don't wake up because it feels too good." That’s the job God has given me tonight. To be like a dog and try my best to wake you from your near-comatose like state and save your soul. 2 Cor 6:14 -18 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” Paul says again in Acts; Acts 17:30 …but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.” And for most of us there is no real marriage to God, but a courtship that you feel you can betray whenever you like. You’re not married to God at all… You’re married to the world pretending your married to Christ but purely flirting with the eternal judgment of your soul. You’re actually married to your sin because it gets far more of your attention and time and effort. You only trying to date Christ on weekends. Your life is riddled with transgression and sin and you aren’t at all concerned about it. “It’s cool!” “God understands.” Like Saint Augustine you may have said; “God, make me good, but not yet. “ Just not ready yet to give up the life of; § Clubbing and drinking. § Rebelling against authority. Parents, teachers, Pastors. § Gossiping and backbiting. Swearing and cussing. § Sexual activities with your boyfriend or girlfriend. § Smothering the real issues of your heart. Listen to the message bible recall one of the most alarming scriptures. Rev 3:15 “I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold; you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! 16You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. 17You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless. Vs 19; The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God! “Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you. 21Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honour at the side of my Father. That’s my gift to the conquerors! Jesus said you’re neither hot nor cold and thus you make Him want to vomit you out of His mouth. Luke Warmness is a greater sin than; knowing Him and still living for yourself. You claim to have a relationship with God and forgiveness of sins but you’re still clinging to your old ways. You’re just hanging on to it for a rainy day. Just in case you need it. You need to let it go its killing you. "The Romans sometimes compelled a captive to be joined face-to- face with a dead body, and to bear it about until the horrible effluvia destroyed the life of the living victim. Virgil describes this cruel punishment: 'The living and the dead at his command/Were coupled face to face, and hand to hand;/ Till choked with stench, in loathed embraces tied,/The lingering wretches pined away and died.'" What you let consume your mind you worship. So who is your real God??? Does God consume your thoughts or is there something else? Is there someone else? Are you hot or cold??? Don’t dare be in between. You find yourself so consumed with the lusts of your flesh that you can’t even notice yourself dying. How an Eskimo kills a wolf. The account is grisly, yet it offers fresh insight into the consuming, self-destructive nature of sin. "First, the Eskimo coats his knife blade with animal blood and allows it to freeze. Then he adds another layer of blood, and another, until the blade is completely concealed by frozen blood. "Next, the hunter fixes his knife in the ground with the blade up. When a wolf follows his sensitive nose to the source of the scent and discovers the bait, he licks it, tasting the fresh frozen blood. He begins to lick faster, more and more vigorously, lapping the blade until the keen edge is bare. Feverishly now, harder and harder the wolf licks the blade in the arctic night. So great becomes his craving for blood that the wolf does not notice the razor-sharp sting of the naked blade on his own tongue, nor does he recognize the instant at which his greedy thirst is being satisfied by his OWN warm blood. His carnivorous appetite just craves more--until the dawn finds him dead in the snow!" It is a fearful thing that people can be "consumed by their own lusts." Only God's grace can keep us from the wolf's fate. May I ask you tonight; “Are you free from sin?
