Unity Presbyterian Church

A Spectacle to the World

It has been rightly said that American Christianity has become domesticated. We live in a very prosperous nation and consequently the church has often been prosperous and well off. We have had it easy as the church in America. We have our comfortable, padded seats and an air-conditioned sanctuary. We build beautiful, expensive buildings with every modern convenience imaginable. We have freedom of religion. We have tax-deductible giving. We have it made. We have not really suffered for our faith. But a Christianity where everything is easy and comfortable, where there is little or no suffering for the faith, is not the Christianity we read about in the pages of the New Testament.
