We Are Soma: Gospel People

Christianity is actually very simple, consisting of one movement: Come to Jesus. Not only is it that simple to start as a Christian, it is also that simple to continue as a Christian. Come to Jesus, and then keep on doing that! As we do, God does his work of shaping us into the people he wants us to be. In this sermon, we look at how coming to Jesus shapes us into God's Family, on God's Mission, as God's Servants. We call this shaping "missional community."

We Are Soma: Gospel Purpose

The great preacher C. H. Spurgeon once said, "I will not believe you have tasted the honey of the gospel if you can eat it all by yourself." God's purpose in rescuing people, drawing them to himself, and pouring out his grace and mercy on them through Jesus is that those people would put his magnificence on display. God wants us to so deeply taste of his goodness that we can't help but proclaim his goodness in all of life. In the gospel, God rescues sinners from sin and self and restores them to himself so that they'll declare his praises!

We Are Soma: Gospel Power

This fall, the Vintage Faith Community celebrates our 8th Anniversary by looking back at the story God has written for us and leaning into the future with some significant changes. The most important change is that Vintage Faith is becoming Soma Communities Spokane. We've been in significant partnership with Soma Communities (somacommunities.org) over the last 4 years, and this name change is the culmination of a significant work of renewal among the Vintage Faith Community. Listen in as we talk about why we're making this switch, and how this changes nothing about our singular purpose - to make the name of Jesus known! (Download the .pdf file for more information about this important transition time.)
