Stephen:  The Man That the Saviour Stand

Acts 7:51-8:1

1.  Stephen’s Stand (vs 51-53)

1)    Stephen Reminded them of their Father’s Sins

2)  Stephen Reminded Them of Their Sins!

1. Stiff-necked (vs 51)– means that they were stubborn, headstrong, obstinate
2. 2.      Uncircumcised in Heart (vs 51)
3. “Ye do always resist the Holy Ghost” – (vs 51) - “Resist” means to oppose, to strive against,

2.  Stephen’s Slicing (vs 54,57) - “Cut to the Heart”

3.  Stephen’s Saviour (vs 56-57)

1)      He saw the glory of God - (vs 55)

2)      He saw His Jesus His Saviour Standing!! (vs 55, 56)

4.  Stephen’s Stoning (vs 57-59a) – “Blasphemy”

5.  Stephen’s Spectator (vs 58) – “ Saul”

6.  Stephen’s Supplications (vs 59b-60)

1)      He prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” (v. 59b).

• Jesus had prayed, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit” (Luke 23:46)

2)      He prayed, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin” (v. 60).  

• Jesus had prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:43)
