Giving up Christmas - I, "Giving Up Carefully"
"I Give up!" Whether it is shouted, mumbled, or spoken under our breath, that is the refrain for many during the Christmas Season. Too often we find ourselves over-scheduled, over-committed, over-tired and in over our heads financially during what is supposed to be a time of celebrating the greatest proof of God's love, the birth of our savior, Jesus. Let's change all of that, now. God's word show's us how. This year, let the holidays be marked as a Giving Up Christmas. No, we won't cancel it or ignore it. that's not the kind of giving up we're going to discuss. Instead, we are going to give in an upward direction. We are going to make wise and careful choices about how we can, with what we have, give to family and community in a way that lifts, advances and elevates people and their needs. when God loves, He gives. When we've known the love of God, we want to give, too. This Christmas let's find how we can be "giving up."

Full Disclosure (a Study of the Book of Revelation) The Book of Revelation, like the other books of the Bible, is a book of hope. In particular, Revelation builds hope in us because it lives up to its title: The Revelation (Full Disclosure) of Jesus Christ. So often teaching from the Book of Revelation is about delivering hype or hysteria. Or it becomes merely a study of the history of the past or happenings in the future. In this series we won't burden ourselves with speculation about every horn, hoof, heavenly creature, scroll, seal, star and spirit. Instead, we will discover that this inspired book that resides at the end of the New Testament is primarily about the One who is the Cornerstone of our faith; Jesus Christ, the Unique Son of God, as he works within, among and through His redeemed people-the Church.
