Jesus engages in more direct conflict with the religious leaders of his day. He has been proclaiming the freedom and availability of this new Kingdom of Heaven. Yet, people are having difficulty understanding. So, just prior to his additional Kingdom teachings in Matthew 13 & 14, he goes through a series of frustrating conflicts between the kingdom of this world and his kingdom.
