Everybody worships something!

Why exalting Jesus above all else
is at the heart of who we are

• Worship is more than music:

• Worship is not for your benefit:
“These people come near me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is made up only of rules taught by men.” Isaiah 29:13 (NIV)

• Worship is not just part of you life, it is your life:
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Romans 12:1 (The Message)

• Worship is a response to God for all He has done for you

Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 (NLT)

• Worship is about knowing God:
I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6

• Worship is an affair of the heart:
The time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. John 4:23

• Worship is a celebration of Jesus:
