John the Murderer
The new kingdom is here! Get ready to join the greatest revolution that the world has ever seen... there is only one catch, you first must die... "We were buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." (Romans 6:4) The greatest gift is the new life that Christ offers, and it is free, but it costs everything. Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him! John the Baptist prepared the way for the one who brings life... but if this life is to be attained, the old life must be put to death!

Time to Dream!
As we (Mark & Karolyn) finish our ministry here, we are confident that the next chapter for Willow Park Church holds many blessings. I would challenge you to continue to risk for the glory of God and the expansion of the kingdom - don't pull back - don't be fearful! I would challenge you to faithfully preach the WORD and that the "Bible-Teaching" core value would never be lost, and that you would give yourself fully to "Loving People, Following Jesus and Serving the World"! It's time to dream again! Key Passage: Acts 20:32

All Things New
We've reached the end of our flight through the Revelation! Seven local congregations were the first to receive this letter of encouragement. Regardless of how dark the days may appear to be around you - hang on! Jesus Christ is on the throne - He is ruling - He is reigning - and for those who overcome, there will be a great reward! Someone has correctly noted that only four chapters of the Bible portray life as it was intended to be: Genesis 1 & 2 and Revelation 21 & 22. The earth is restored to it's original glory, and God makes His dwelling with His people. Key Passage: Revelation 21 & 22

He Reigns!
Revelation 20 is one of the most debated texts in our study - NOT because the imagery is difficult to understand - BUT because of the various perspectives on WHEN these events will take place! What I'm afraid we've missed in all our debating is the central focus of the text! Namely, that Jesus Christ reigns! And that we've got a job to do! This weekend we'll try to make some sense out of the major schools of thought in regard to the timing of the "end" events. But more than anything, my prayer is that Jesus Christ would be lifted up! Key Passage: Revelation 20

The Victory Ride!
We've finally reached the summit! All the empires of the world will amass their energies against the Lamb of God, but they will not stand! With the power of His spoken Word, Jesus Christ will declare the final victory and all that we've looked forward to will be complete! So just one question. Are you up for the battle? Truth is going to triumph! And while the ultimate fulfillment of this vision is future, the battle is already waging around us, and we've been called into action! How does the armor fit? Key Passage: Revelation 19

Babylonian Bar and Bistro
Every day followers of Jesus face a myriad of choices that define their citizenship and their loyalties. We walk with a tentative step and live in a constant state of "tension". How can we live IN this Babylonian world, and YET not be poisoned by the waters? Is it possible to sit at the barstool with friends and neighbors who are drinking deeply from the "kegs" of life that offer them power, pleasure, sex, money and fame - and yet be unaffected myself? Won't my friend next to me wonder why I'm not drinking from the same cup as they are? Won't I stand out like a sore thumb? Key Passage: Revelation 17:1 - 19:5

Deliver Us!
Revelation 15-16 is one of those difficult yet comforting texts. God will one day judge the nations! Evil will finally be done away with - and our prayer all these years will be answered: "Your kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven!" Hold on! 'Cause the King is on His way! Key Passage: Revelation 15:1 - 16:21

Jesus for President
Jesus for President? It almost sounds funny to put those words in the same sentence. In our day when we are so very careful to keep religion and politics separate, it may be difficult to face the reality that the Revelation is a strikingly political book of insubordination against an anti-Christian "empire". While John uses "veiled" language to build his case, it is clear that the ruling empire of the day (Rome) was being implicated as an instrument of Satan! Wow! Can you imagine the pressure we would face if we stood against the state with such vitriolic words? But remember - John was a prisoner of the state! And he wasn't there for towing the party line! He was there because the reigning powers of the day saw danger in the eyes of this little old man! What does the world see when they look in your eyes or mine? Perhaps it's no coincidence that we are talking politics in an election week! Revelation 12-15 is our text - hold on for the ride!

Stronger
As a kid I can remember standing beside my dad singing the old song "little is much when God is in it...". Profound statement, actually. No matter what I am involved in, from tucking the kids in bed, filling my car with gas, texting a friend, closing a business deal, or running for office, God is in it. God is involved. And that forever changes the little and the much. Key Passage: Revelation 13:1-10

Courage Under Fire
If you ever watched a hockey game and your favourite team is down by one goal in the third period in game seven with one minute left, then you know how intense those 60 seconds can be. When a team is trying to make a comeback and they find themselves in that position they will do whatever it takes to beat their opponent - no risk is too great. John, in Revelation 12, describes a similar situation (ok, the analogy breaks down - just humour me please). John tells us that Satan is a defeated foe. The devil knows his time is very limited (he's in the last minute of the game) and as a result he's pulling out all the stops. He is not only raging mad - but he will do whatever it takes to try and beat down and destroy those who are on his opponent's team. John wants us to have courage under fire. He wants us to remain obedient and faithful knowing that Satan's time to destroy is short and through the blood of Jesus Christ we will overcome. Key Passage: Revelation 12
