Priceless Photos... Valuing Life from the Cradle to the Grave
If the Bible is correct, then you and I are far from accidental. We have intrinsic value because we are made Imago Dei – in the Image of God. And the truth is, you will never know who you are until you know who’s you are. Your value, and the value of those around you, will never ultimately be found in the world’s eyes, but through God’s. It’s our prayer that God will change how you see yourself, and change how you see everyone else around you. He wants us to realize the priceless photos we come in contact with everyday, from the cradle to the grave and everywhere in between. Key Passage: Genesis 1:26-27

One Picture is Worth 1,000 Words
Whether "never-married", divorced, widowed or otherwise "single-again", over 40% of the North America adult population is single. When the church teaches and emphasizes the critical role of the "family", we often forget to talk to this huge population who are not currently married. While the Bible upholds the sanctity of marriage and promotes a healthy family life as the key unit of society, it also has much encouragement to individuals who are not married. The unique contribution that a single person can give for the glory of God makes it a life worth celebrating and exploiting. Rather than seeing singleness as "2nd best", can we celebrate the gifts and opportunities God gives to those who are doing life "solo?" Key Passage: 1 Corinthians 7:32

Our Family Album
Central to all human relationships is the foundation of mutual respect and honour. This "valuing" from one person to another may be seen no more clearly than in the relationship between the generations. When parents bless and honour their children, and when children in turn show reverence and respect toward, not only their parents, but ALL older people, it lays the foundation for a society where strong relationships are the norm. Rip respect and honour from the culture, and chaos and anarchy soon reign. Who would have thought that disobedience to parents could carry such far-reaching effects ... but as goes the family, so goes the culture... Key Passage: Leviticus 19:32

Life After the Storm
If we are going to reach out with the love of Jesus to the community around us we will not be able to avoid the topic of divorce. All of us have been affected either directly or indirectly by the breakdown of the family, and we desperately need to understand HOW to respond to a broken, hurting world. Unfortunately, a marriage failure often brings a "double whammy" in that there is first the very real pain of the breakup, and secondly, an equally great pain that the church does not know how to respond. May God give us grace to learn. Key Passage: Psalm 34:18

Little Eyes Are Watching
This week we’re focusing on the sobering reality that the church of Jesus is really never more than one generation away from extinction. Of all that we try to pass along to our children, the passionate pursuit of Jesus Christ should be the top of our list... yet so often it doesn’t appear to be our number one priority. How about you? Little eyes are always watching. Do they see in you the Jesus you would want them to see? Key Passage: Deuteronomy 6:7-9

Developing the Negatives
Many of us have our hopes set on a marriage relationship that lasts a lifetime and thrives in love. But so often, things start to turn sour, as lifes' hardships begin to change us, for better or for worse. In this week's message, Pastor of Marriage & Families Henry Sawatzky shares how "defensiveness" is a major threat to the "marriage dream" in our culture. Key Passage: Genesis 2:21-25

Shattered Glass
This new series "Picture Perfect?" will focus on family matters - with topics that affect us all. Every individual has a family album of memories, experiences, expectations, and dreams...good, bad, and everything in between. When it’s good it can be REALLY good! And when it’s bad ... well, you know! The most important relationship we’ll ever have is with Christ at the centre of our lives. Personal wholeness is the key to all relationships. We need to ï¬nd healing in Christ in order for us to have healthy relationships with others.

Reaching the Least Reached
It is so easy to be content with the pleasures and treasures we enjoy here in North American culture. The team that went to Mongolia serves as a reminder to each one of us to reach out missionally to those right here in Kelowna, in our country, and around the world. Are you willing to pray, give and go to spread the message of Jesus?

Sandcastle Lives
We've all been in conversations when we realize half way into a paragraph that we don't know what the other person is talking about, because our mind has drifted... OR ... we wonder if the person we're talking to is actually listening, because there is a "far-off" look in their eye and they don't seem to be tracking with us! Jesus wraps up this long message with a very basic challenge: It is not the "hearer only" who will beneï¬t from these principles, but the one who actually "builds upon" these words! He has offered a sure foundation that will carry us through the storms of life ‒ the only question is whether or not we will build on it? "On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground it sinking sand." Key Passage: Matthew 7:24-29

Just Ask ... ?
We witness it nearly every day…the sacriï¬ces that good parents make for their children. The ï¬nancial and time commitments that go into raising healthy kids are HUGE but you seldom hear a parent complain! Jesus points out the best of our traits as earthly parents and then draws a comparison…if this is how good moms and dads look after their children... how much more will your heavenly Father...? How much have we understood about the Father’s generous heart toward His children? Will we trust? Do we believe? Will we be bold enough to ask? Key Passage: Matthew 7:7-12
